Jamie Brooks
Managing Director & Cutting Director
We asked Jamie at Brooks and Brooks what he thought the hair trend of the year has been in 2023.
"Short haircuts! It’s been so refreshing to feel the confidence in short styles dominating the high street. With personalised cuts enhancing bone structure and showcasing their individual personalities."
Kara
Advanced Technician
For those not overly adventurous with their hair but after an easy-to-manage style, Kara at Brooks and Brooks recommends layers!
"Layering hair is a great way to start introducing shape texture. Experimenting with low-shaggy razored layers that have a natural feel to it, can quickly change your style.
Top tip styling products can help when you don't want to commit to haircutting."
Marlon
Artistic Director
Simplify your approach to styling with a foolproof technique from Brooks and Brooks expert, Marlon. We asked for his best styling advice for doing your own hair at home.
"Start by sectioning your hair into horseshoes for precision, starting from the recession point and temples. With this approach, you'll have eight sections to tong, leaving you with a flawless finish. Remember, holding the tong vertically creates a softer wave, while a horizontal position gives a more voluminous result."
Kayleigh
Senior Top Stylists and Colour Specialist
Wondering about how to achieve long-lasting volume? Kayleigh’s got all the answers you need…
"It’s all in the preparation of your hair using the correct products…
Applying mousse or volume product - from root to tip on damp hair is a great starting point.
A great tip is to flip your head upside down and blast your hair off without your hairdryer's nozzle.
When your hair is nearly dry, flip your head back up and get a bristle paddle brush to smooth over the ends. Now you ready to go in with your tonging. I always then brush the curls out, hairspray and your longevity of your volume and style will last all night.
Top tip if your hair is extra fine apply a little dust powder volume product to your roots to keep the volume."
Sally Brooks
Creative Director
Stuck on what style to go for this Christmas or New Years? Maybe Sally Brooks will be able to help you with her trend predictions for Christmas and New Year Hair:
"Ponytails! Slick neat partings adapted, I’m thinking either straight, curly or tong flicked, this ponytail is all about polish.
Not forgetting accessories - ‘Zara Hair’ gold product used by Guido will be the ‘it’ accessory to add the NYE sparkle!"
